Just been going back through the thread and the recent update : marvellous piece of ingenious engine making, using such a wide variety of techniques and approaches, and the model has quite a presence when set into motion.

Thanks for the interest

The paint did not take long to dry so it was time to put it back together and hope it still ran.

Here you can see the finished face cam and the rocker arm assembly that was not shown earlier, fuel gas connection into the side of the head.

This shot shows the Sievert burner screwed into the chimney, I made an adaptor to replicate their nick tube end and used a standard steam type nut and nipple on the other.

And finally, a video of it running, the last 30 seconds or so have it at a slower speed as I started to get it dialed in a bit more.

I think we all know that feeling in the pit of our stomachs when you have to dismantle a working engine for beautification - well no problems on that front!

Yep, that's another absolute stunner you've chalked up! Amazing

Looks nice!
So the intake air is not metered, just the fuel with some sort of offline needle valve? If so how to you control the speed?

Thanks for breaking the monotony Jason and yet another masterpiece added to the Ballamy stable.

A few will know that this engine is capable of being run in either direction by virtue of simply rotating the face cam. Being atmospheric inlet and hot tube ignition just the exhaust valve timing makes the change.

The engine looks splendid in its red and black livery, and mounted on the crafted wooden base  - and the running is most impressive.  Dave
