- In topic · 18d agoThat’s a very fine display!
- In topic · 20d agoAbsolutely wonderful. Master craftsmanship!
- In topic · 25d agoA friend of mine (same one who challenged me to balance a coin on it) said he thought it looked like it was having a nervous breakdown.

- In topic · 25d agoHere is a little bit of footage of the engine running.
Includes a highly impressive
piece where I balance a coin on it while it runs.

- In topic · 28d agoNot a trivial engine at all. The PM Research sets make into very nice engines. Their plans are pretty good and accurate too. Looks like you are off to a good start. I will be following along. I’ve built 2 PMR’s and enjoyed both builds.
- In topic · 28d agoWill you be writing a book on this one? I’d buy that for sure. I leafed through your steam shovel book at the weekend, and that was impressive.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had problems with Reeves.

I haven’t had any issues - they’ve been easy to deal with so far. Sorry to hear of your troubles there. - In topic · 29d agoLooks like an excellent show - some beautiful exhibits there.
- In topic · 29d agoAnother video by someone else. I remember the kid in this vid - he was really keen and genuinely interested.

- In topic · 5 OctThe show was superb this year - had a thoroughly excellent time. It was great to see that the place was full - I hope the show goes from strength to strength.
Here is a short video with a bit of footage of a variety of exhibits - I did not manage to catch it all, not by a long shot.
I have added chapters so that you can skip over my waffly bit.

- In topic · 30 SeptCould you make it a bit more ornate, maybe?

Quote from: ChipmasterJolly good now what about your Mery castings?

A fair point! Those I will keep until after my beam engine is complete, and I expect I will wring my hands and overthink machining processes for that engine. Looking forward to it, I know that. - In topic · 27 Sept

- In topic · 27 SeptThank you all. This was a very revealing project. I did it because it was relatively simple (I still screwed some of it up
), and had a good chance of getting done in the time available. It was really enjoyable to do without going all toolroom on it (which I like to do - but not needed on everything) and it's reminded me what a pleasure it is to do something and finish it in a short period. Might have to slip in this kind of project from time to time.
I filmed it running but I still have to edit all that. May not get to that for a few days while I prepare for the Indiana show - this will be the first show I actually display at. So, kind of excited.
