Hi all

After 2 previously failed attempts to make this event, I'm finally going to make it!  ;D

I was just wondering whose going and when as it would be great to finally meet some of you face to face. I'll be travelling up for the weekend with the family who are doing their own thing, but can be there either Sat or Sun........

Looking forward to it

Hi "S" unfortuanately I cannot go as I am still in Rehab and I will also not be able to go to Forncett with all my models on the 6th  October....Take lots of money as the trade stalls have lots of goodies including second hand stuff.

Hello All,

I am still hoping to make it this year, having organised, but missed the last two years.

I will also be on the MEM stand with my Mercedes GP engines on Thursday and Friday. I will be alongside Mike Cole, so lots of I/C engine interest for you all to see. I agree it would be nice to meet a few other members face to face, if you do come to the Show, come to the stand and be sure to identify yourselves as MEM members. As Mike C said, if it's busy, just  come round the back of the tables and have a chat.

Cheers

Unrelated question for the UK guys, is the "Midlands" a town or just a geographical location? I see it referred to occasionally and have kind of wondered about it.

Hi Dave, it is a regional area in the centre of England and consists of several of the ancient shire counties plus a new county which contains two of the largest cities in the region, Birmingham and Coventry.

Dave,

You guys have the 'Mid West' somewhere between the East and the West coasts. We have the 'Midlands' located in the middle, between the North and South of England.

Thanks Mike, that makes sense, I just never knew. Does the Midlands go fully east to west, or just kind of an area more round in shape?

Hello Dave,

It's sort of the bit in the middle. There is Wales (a country) to the west and East Anglia (East of England) to the east.
Midlands is the Middle of England

Your Midlands seems to make more sense than our 'Midwest' which is actually pretty far east!  The whole 'Midwest' is actually on the east side of the country.  Go figure...  The only thing NOT east about it is that it doesn't actually touch the Atlantic Ocean, so it's west of the original colonies.
