Quote from: cruebyGoing to be a bit of a slowdown on this project for a while. This afternoon I was going out to get the mail, and slipped off the side of the driveway, and wound up attacking the asphalt with my face and left hand. The asphalt won! Minor scrapes on the forehead and nose, but the left wrist hurt a lot. Went up to the local Urgent Care place, lots of them around since we have a major med school and hospital in Rochester. Xrays showed a minor crack down the Radius bone. Fortunately no seperation, movement, the crack didnt go all the way through. But, a splint/cast on the wrist for a while that will keep me from most shop work till it heals.  :'(  What a pain in the ... um, wrist!

Yikes!  Glad you're mostly OK! Hope the wrist heals quickly.  That sounds like a lot of no fun!  :o

Well, maybe you'll have time to catch up on that reading backlog?

Interesting design.  Rather than having the crossbar connect directly to the lever arm, they have a drop-down post to connect them.  I guess the additional part count and complexity let them have a longer stroke length and allow the lever arms to extend below the level of the base of the engine.  But now they have to make sure the levers are all positioned between frames of the hull or they'd have yet another problem!

They did a lot of things to keep the height of the engine as minimal as possible!

There are a lot of long spindly rods in this design.  I think that adds to its elegance!

That is excellent news about Kozo's A3 Switcher book!  It's been unavailable for some time now. Nice to hear they're doing another printing.

And welcome to MEM - or welcome to posting on MEM, at least!

The levers look great!  As do the key tags.  The brass black for the lettering seems to have come out very nice!  I'll bet they will really enjoy those  ;D

Yes, I've noticed the same thing.  I pointed it out to Ade and he said he'd try to take a look at it.  It is a systemic thing.  I think the domain name of the lister engine coppermine site changed a few years ago and Ade did something to the forum software to make that change transparent.  I think with one of the recent(ish) updates that fix may have been lost.

But I don't really know.  I'm kinda guessing.

I hope it canbe fixed, because I have many old threads with thousands of pictures that would have to be changed.  :o

Much more durable than regular paint, and I get much more consistent results with it than with spray cans.  ;D

Its the thought of fine powder making a mess of the shop or basement.  Also, doesn't  it go on a bit thicker than a fine paint?

Yeah, that can be a bit of a problem, but then, so can spray can overspray.  They feel pretty similar to me, other than the powder overspray can be cleaned up with a shop vac.  And that doesn't work with paint overspray!  You might want to powder in the garage.  And I certainly wouldn't want to bake paint in the house either. But then, I'd spray paint in the garage.  If you spray indoors, maybe it's not that different.

    That would be fun!

Quote from: Dave Otto...I have been spraying paint for years and that part really doesn't bother me, I know some guys really hate painting.

I've spray painted for years too, which is why I LOVE powder coating!  Dave, I think I'm one of those guys!  :Jester:

That frame is really beautiful!  I know you're doing the bearings now, and they are great too.  But every time I see those frames, I just have to say "Wow!"

Sorry I can't help with clubs in the UK and such.  But I'm sure others can.
