I guess I don't understand why you use SW at all. After you insert  your ACAD sketch you said you extrude it & maybe add some additional 3D features? Are you using the 3D model for printing or CAM? Or just making 3D views for your ACAD drawings? How complex are the sketches you use?

That's amazing!  :pinkelephant: Kind of like the Atkinson engine that gives so many folks fits.

You did a fine job with that.

Looks like another good design Jason! That will make for a pretty nice model!

Very nice engine Jason! I do like the color scheme, & it's a great runner.

So how many engines is this for you now??

    Somehow I missed all this.

Nice work Jason! I like what you're doing with it.

I imagine Chris (Crueby, "kinda" near Buffalo) is probably tooling around the neighborhood with his "Elves" on the Lombard plowing driveways & pulling cars out.

You gotta love (or hate..), living by these "Great Lakes".  We "only" got about 12-16" inches here along the lakeshore & a "stones throw" inland.

Hello Jerry, don't worry about the progress on the engine, take care of things at home first. We've been getting hammered on with snow the past few days here in the north, close to a foot here & even more like 3Ft. in Crueby's neck of the woods. Good time for some design time.

I like your idea with using springs on the dash pots, I really think that will work.

I'm not sure what size or scale your engine may be, but when I designed my governor for the Corliss, I spec'd these gears from PM research, maybe they might work. Cheap & off the shelf.

Yep. Been there & done that, I save my posts in "Notepad".

Looks like a sweet design! I like the dash pots & linkage. Will the dash pots be functional?

    Sweet! I've got time!

What are the specs of your new engine??

That really is some GREAT work. You're right about the gears, it's poetry in motion. I feel like a cat chasing a laser pointer when I see all those motions.

Hello Jerry! That's some nice work there!

I CAD modeled up this governor for the MEM Corliss. I haven't done any calculations & it probably wouldn't be a "Real" functioning governor, I just wanted it to "Look the part".

    Maybe it might help?

I've often wondered if incorporating a stiff compression spring above the balls/upper arms might slow it down & give a smoother action?
