Quote from: Stan StockerTitanium white acrylic paint works pretty well as a solder barrier.
For high temperature silver solder? I'd have thought it would burn. Or is that idea just for low temp soft solder?

Probably little difference from correction fluid. Titanium oxides in an organic binder. The proportions might be different, but the same basic components.

I was thinking the acrylic would be a problem at those temperatures, but then I've never tried it!

I used white artist gesso once years ago and it was satisfactory. I don’t remember the brand but I always got one that had high  titanium dioxide as opposed to calcium carbonate, this was when I was dabbling in art. Has anyone else tried it? Regards, Paul Gough.

I would not expect any organic compounds to survive at those temperatures. The only question would be whether different components might have unwanted residues or some other problem.
