That is very sad. I had some good messaging with him in the earlier days of the forum. RIP.

Terrible news.  I visited his garage twice;  great food there too!

Ah damn.  I only knew him from his posts on this forum, but enjoyed his humor.  I guess it's the curse of aging, you meet a lot of nice folks, but realize we are all going sooner or later.  Reminder to tell our loved ones how we feel about them.  But I'll be danged if I'm going to clean up my workbench.

I met Eric once at one of the engine shows, have a picture of him somewhere darned if I can find it. I also hadn't realized Stan had passed. Have a photo of him but naturally he's blinking! I enjoyed Eric's banter and sense of humor, also his talk and photos of his car. Rest in peace friend!

I always enjoyed reading his posts and I perused his Redwing build series on a daily basis whilst building mine.

RIP Eric, enjoying building engines and cooking on BBQ' up in the sky.

Hi Art, I think that would have been the NAMES 2016 show. There were a bunch of us there that year including Eric, it was a fun time.
I also didn't remember that Stan had passed, I may have known about it and forgot.
Attached is a photo that that LuElla Morrison took of a group of us at the 2015 Cool Spring Fall show, that was the 10 year anniversary of the Flame Engine Expo.
From Left to right is Marvin Hedberg, Maury Uelblhor, Dave Otto, Tim (tvot), Stan Shire, and Roland Morrison.

Ididn't take any people photos at NAMES, only engines. :)

This is very sad news.  Eric was a character.  I actually won a prize from him on this forum.  I don’t remember the actual contest, but I have the caliper depth attachment that Eric made as the prize.

If you go to the Shows section of the forum and pull up the 2014 Cabin Fever threads by SShire there are a bunch of pictures of Eric.  He brought his trailer to Cabin Fever and camped out that year.  I believe it was his first show.

Eric is now with others from that show that I am aware of: Aussie Jim, Paul Steck and Stan.
