the point with the 3d printed parts as models for casting is that I had to increase the size at the slicer, ( 103 % for alu & 105% for Zinc alloys) to cope with the metal retraction...as I don't like to modify the drawings.

Thanks Zephyrin.
I'll make sure to keep that in mind. The cylinders are oversize for machining; I just messed up on the first mold.

Tried a 3rd pour and it did not work out. I used petrobond for the 1st time and just didn't get it right. So I started machining the cylinders that I had with the original parts. So far so good. Used a tailstock mandrel to set the cylinder in the keets fixture.

Did some initial machining on one of the steam chests I pourd and I believe I'll be able to use them.

A couple more. I used a 3/8 four flute on the mill, after pre-drilling with a 7/32 and 1/2, for the procedure.

Got a little more done last week. Finished the steam passeges in the outside cylinders. I also got the lids and valve spindles made up. Made some blanks for the valves, but haven't finished them up yet. I pickeled one of the cylinders to clean it up, but it turned it a different collor. I'll probably do the other one so they match up, but it's probably not that important, as they will be painted down the road.

Spent some time over the holiday to get the caps machined. I didn't have a casting for the driving side, so I machined a couple up from round stock on the rotory table. The others end was machined up from a couple of PM Research castings.
