Today was milling day. I milled the bronze block at a right angle. Then I drilled all the necessary holes and tapped the threads. A larger section had to be cut out of the center.

Now the base plate is almost finished. Next, the crankshaft bearings need to be installed.

Today the upper parts of the crankshaft bearings were manufactured. Ball bearings are being used. The flywheel has been machined and the crankshaft has been started. Everything fits together well.

Looking very nice Michael, are the ball bearings a push fit or are you going to Loctite them into place?

I was lucky, and the ball bearings are securely clamped to the top and bottom parts. I'll secure the shaft with Loctite.

Yes of course, silly me they are clamped top and bottom rather than pushed!  :D

What sort of deburring tool do you use for those fantastic looking edges?  :NotWorthy:
