Hello Kim,
thanks for the kind words. Yes it's great that they'll republish the book, sounded like a one time offer so I wouldn't wait too long.
Also german machining guru Stefan Gotteswinter announced he'd do a youtube series on the New Shay. This book is still available at VP, but I would not be surprised if would be sold out as quickly as the A3 book was after the start of Quinns videos. So if you were thinking of buying the New Shay book, now is the time. BTW while you're at it I'd also get Ed Hume's Climax book which on top of describing his locomotive build has many great workshop tricks.

PS I see this is my first post here! Maybe a few words. DIY machinist living in central Switzerland not yet having attempted a steam engine build. Next on the list would be the water pump from Kozos New Shay book (to practise silver soldering). Another thing I'd like to try is TIG welding a copper boiler. I love TIG welding and although I have recently acquired a burner kit as recommended by Kozo, I am much more proficient with TIG welding. Further down on the list would be the Heisler engine: I like the symmetric V2 design. Unfortunately the book is fully imperial, adding lots of complexity for converting into my metric shop. So far I am halfway stuck redrawing the engine in CAD. At least I managed to grab a used copy of the Heisler book. Having recently managed to purchase a small CNC mill, I hugely enjoy the machining tips+tricks from Ed Hume's Climax book.
